When you get to know our partners you will understand why we love what we do! Elephante exists to support leaders in Northern Uganda, and we get to work with these amazing heroes every day.  Don't be jealous, come join us!

HAVEN for humanity

Malnutrition and family instability are still quietly devastating thousands of households in Northern Uganda and West Nile. HHU confronts it head-on with long-term support built around dignity.

Through nutrition treatment, savings groups, psychosocial care, and family strengthening, HHU helps communities move from survival to stability. Their work is not quick, but it’s committed.

Gender Tech

Tech spaces have not been safe or welcoming for many women and girls in Uganda - and that has real economic consequences. Gender Tech is changing the pipeline by creating supportive, practical pathways into ICT and STEM.

From digital safety to training and mentorship, they’re raising confident women who don’t just participate in technology, they lead with it. This is what unlocking potential looks like when it’s intentional.

wokober education

Memorization-heavy schooling isn’t preparing students to solve real problems. Wokober is rebuilding education around hands-on learning, innovation, and creativity.

Through STEAM clubs, festivals, and learning kits, Wokober equips young people to think, build, and lead. They’re raising the kind of problem-solvers Uganda needs.

Poultry farmers lose too much to preventable disease and limited veterinary support - and those losses wreck livelihoods. River Poultry tackles the problem with innovation, combining training with tools like SmartVet to improve outcomes.

By expanding support systems and scaling smart solutions, they’re building a stronger poultry economy that protects both income and food security. This is agriculture that learns and improves.

AJURA STYLES

ajura2_edited.png

This is fashion with a backbone. Ajura is pushing back on a system that floods Uganda with second-hand clothing while stripping local creativity and cultural identity of value.

Using natural dyes, eco-printing, and a bold fashion-tech vision, Ajura is building something rare: ethical, culturally rooted design that’s globally competitive. Along the way, they’re creating dignified work for young women and proving Northern Uganda can set trends, not follow them.

Haven For Humanity

AFRO LAB

afrolab.jpg

In Gulu, too many young people are carrying trauma and unemployment with nowhere safe to put it. Afro Lab is changing that by turning music into a real pathway—out of isolation and into purpose.

Through DJ training, music production, and outreach in places like the Juvenile Remand Home, Afro Lab is helping youth rebuild confidence, discipline, and skill. This isn’t entertainment. It’s restoration with a future.

Christ central community church

Where spiritual manipulation and shallow teaching have hurt communities, Christ Central is rebuilding the foundation: truth, discipleship, and integrity.

Through village outreach, radio teaching, Bible distribution, and pastor training, the church is shaping leaders who serve with humility and courage. Their aim is simple but radical - faith that produces real transformation, not hype.

bolcoms ventures

Some leaders are doing powerful work but losing opportunities because their branding and digital presence looks weak. Bolcoms closes that gap with branding, websites, and IT support that helps organizations show up with credibility.

They’re also training young people in real tech skills that lead to income and stability. It’s visibility for local changemakers and jobs for a rising generation.

River Poultry was founded because poultry farmers across Uganda lose too much income to preventable disease, high mortality, and limited veterinary access. Their solution blends farming with technology—using AI tools to keep flocks healthier and businesses more stable.

Through training, vaccination support, and platforms like SmartVet, River Poultry helps farmers reduce mortality and costs while improving food security. They’re building a smarter poultry ecosystem that protects both livelihoods and community health.

“Street kids” (or more considerately called kids who live and work on the street) are stigmatized by many in the community as violent criminals. But not by Hashtag Gulu.

This group of young volunteers values these kids and wants to see them reach their highest potential. At Elephante, they have created a hub for mentorship, life skills, and vocational training with the end goal being to integrate them into society.

Hashtag Gulu

Kijani forestry

Northern Uganda is fighting two battles at once: disappearing forests and persistent poverty. Kijani’s answer is bold - put farmers at the center of restoration and build a forestry model that creates real income.

With millions of trees planted and tens of thousands of farmers engaged, Kijani proves climate action can be scalable, profitable, and community-driven. They’re restoring land while strengthening livelihoods.

Through art therapy, murals, drama, and rehabilitation programs (including training former drug users), Kalokelo turns survival into leadership. It’s creativity with grit - and compassion that doesn’t look away.

Agamega

Acta Event Designs

Mtindo was founded because too many young women in Uganda leave school early and face unemployment with few real options. Mtindo creates a direct pathway from skills training to real work through a tailoring academy connected to a production studio.

By training women and then employing graduates in apparel production, Mtindo builds long-term economic independence—not just short-term learning. Their model is helping women provide for their families and lead with confidence.

agamega

While most of the urban population is moving away from farming, Deo, founder of Agamega Agro Enterprise, is innovating it and dare we say, making it trendy again.

Deo is pursuing crops others shy away from, like oyster mushrooms, and he is sharing his experience and knowledge with other members of the community so they can also create their own successful farm.  Deo isn't afraid to think big and we know farming in Uganda will be carried further with him around.

Ribbo Coffee

Coffee can be a livelihood engine or it can be another extractive system that leaves farmers behind. Ribbo is building a stronger coffee ecosystem rooted in quality, sustainability, and producer partnership.

Through roasting, white labeling, and coffee experiences, Ribbo creates local pride and higher value locally while strengthening farmer income. Great coffee is the product—but community growth is the outcome.

Watwero was founded by Geoffrey Oryema, a former child soldier, because he knows firsthand how trauma can steal a young person’s future. Watwero uses dance as a healing tool—creating space for youth to process pain, rebuild identity, and belong.

Through training, performances, and community programs, Watwero gives young people a pathway into purpose, creativity, and even employment. Their work builds unity and resilience—and proves that art can be a force for recovery and peace.

By serving families, restaurants, and cafés with consistent quality and transparent practices, the business is improving food safety while strengthening local supply chains. They’re building trust in a sector where trust matters.

scratch upcycling

Scratch Upcycling exists because glass waste in Gulu is growing, and people with limited opportunities often get overlooked. This initiative turns discarded bottles into useful products—proving that waste can become income and creativity can become livelihood.

By repurposing local glass into cups, candle holders, and custom pieces, Scratch is building an early model for circular economy work in Northern Uganda. Their vision is a community where glass is reused—not dumped—and more people can earn through practical sustainability.

Did you know that 91% of the world’s plastic is NOT recycled?  Takataka is very aware of this issue and they are doing something about it!  They are developing technology that is safely processing plastic waste in areas where waste is currently being burned or littered.  You can buy recycled products like wall tiles or chairs from this!

And to top it off, they are able to employ marginalized people groups, creating opportunities for healing for trauma survivors
